On the 9th of October 2018, Years 5 and 6 had the honor of working with the Newcastle Eagles in the Hoops for Health Tournament. We took part in many activities across the afternoon! We did active exercises like press ups, knees up, star jumps and running on the spot. We learned about our hearts beating faster when we are active. We also dribbled basketballs and had lots of fun cheering and clapping for our teams. We also learned how to be a good team player. We then completed activities in our classrooms about heathy eating and peer pressure.
We got a golden ticket to go to the next game that the Newcastle Eagles play and we got reduced tickets for other family members. Our school has also been entered into a contest that gives the school basketball team the opportunity to play at a Newcastle Eagles game during half term.
We would love to say a big thank you to the Newcastle Eagles members for coming to help us have fun and increase our basketball knowledge.
