From the first year our school opened we have performed our dances at the South Tyneside Dance Festival. I really enjoy running an after school dance club at Forest View Primary school and the children enjoy having the opportunity to perform on a large stage at the Customs House in front of a large audience. Dance Club encourages the children to work as a team, to come up with their own choreography, and also promotes health and fitness as they are always very busy!
In the Summer Term 2018, we took 40 children to the dance festival. 20 children attended from Reception and 20 children attended from Key Stage 2. Everybody worked really hard and we all had an amazing time.
Item Title: Dance with me under the sea
Forest View Primary School’s reception children have been inspired by the song ‘Under the Sea.’
They have worked very hard and have had lots of fun putting together their dance moves to create a colourful under the sea experience.
We hope you enjoy watching this performance as much as we have enjoyed rehearsing for it. As usual everybody has given 100% effort and commitment.
Sit back and enjoy. We are sure that you will agree that every animal in the sea is happy!
Item Title: Believing is Achieving!
The children in years 4, 5 and 6 from Forest View Primary school have this year been inspired by the movie ‘The Greatest Showman.’ They decided to perform to a mix of songs from the soundtrack so that everyone’s personalities were able to shine through. Every performer has also chosen their own outfit to emphasise their unique individual identity.
The children have enjoyed working in smaller groups and as a larger group, and as usual they have put 100% effort and commitment into the choreography and performance of their dance ‘Believing is Achieving’
In Summer Term 2017 we took 60 children to perform at the Customs House. The youngest children were from Reception and the oldest children were from Year 6.
Item Title: The Dance of the Kingdom
Forest View Primary School’s reception children have been learning all about castles. We held our own castle banquet and took part in some medieval dancing. The children enjoyed it so much that they decided to use the music from the Kingdom Dance in Tangled to perform to.
The girls look extremely pretty dressed as princesses and the boys look extremely handsome dressed as princes. They have had lots of fun putting together their dance moves and have worked extremely hard. Sit back and relax as they perform the ‘Dance of the Kingdom’
Item Title: Hawaiian Dreams
Children from year 1 to year 3 perform in Forest View primary school’s first dance of this evening. They have been inspired by the film Lilo and Stitch and have really enjoyed developing their dance moves to reflect the fun and freedom that people who surf the waves experience.
We hope you enjoy watching this performance as much as we have enjoyed rehearsing for it. As usual all children gave 100% effort and commitment.
Sit back and enjoy, we are sure that you will be whisked away to the ‘Hawaiian Dream’.
Item Title: ‘Free those feet- Dance to the Beat’
The children in years 4, 5 and 6 from Forest View Primary school have been inspired by the song Footloose. In our second dance of this evening you will see that the children have definitely kicked off their Sunday shoes and set their feet free!
Everybody enjoyed working in smaller groups and as a larger group, and as usual the children have put lots of effort into their dance. They hope you enjoy their performance.
